WHEN IS IT?

The three-day event takes place from February 6-8, 2026 and includes a concert on Friday evening, a participatory music and liturgy workshop on Saturday, and a worship service on Sunday. Join us for the entire weekend or come at the times you’re available. No matter when you attend, please register so we can be in touch with you!

WHAT WILL WE EXPERIENCE?

Friday’s concert includes John Hermanson’s sacred songs, rooted in prophetic and mystical traditions. We’ll also sing Is This the Fast We Choose?, his evening prayer service drawing from the Book of Isaiah, a collection of prophetic texts in the Jewish canon. The book is referenced frequently in the teaching of Jesus and reveals that justice, liberation, care for immigrants, release of prisoners, redistribution of wealth and critiques of power are at the heart of our theology.

Saturday’s workshop invites participants into a Spirit-led, collaborative exploration of worship. We’ll notice the ways community is formed through hopeful, embodied song and leadership that encourages the participation of all. In a time marked by isolation, accusation, and despair, this gathering centers on the good news of Jesus and the transforming power of liturgy rooted in Scripture. The workshop may serve as the beginning of an ongoing collaborative journey in worship renewal.

  • Explore how to enrich and enliven your congregation’s singing practices, whether your church has 10 people or 200 (or more—or fewer!).

  • Sing new hymns for Christian worship, drawing widely from traditional, contemporary, global, and contemplative sources.

  • Share what’s inspiring you in church ministry today—and what’s frustrating you, too!

  • Build a community of support with other pastors and musicians in the DMV region.

Sunday’s worship service will incorporate some of the songs and leadership practices we’ve explored throughout the weekend.

WHO IS INVITED TO ATTEND?

Intrepid clergy, church musicians, choir and band members, and worshippers who are eager to sing and learn together.
